GA CFSR Outcomes

Georgia Outcomes

Excerpts, letter from the Administration on Children and Families (ACF):

I am writing to congratulate the State of Georgia on the successful completion of Program Improvement Plan (PIP) under the Federal Child and Family Services Review (CFSR). The Georgia PIP was the first to achieve official completion in Region IV.

The ACF Children's Bureau (CB) Region IV Office, along with CB Central Office staff, recently concluded that Georgia has successfully completed its PIP. To meet the requirements of its PIP, Georgia not only had to complete all action steps and tasks leading to systems change, but also needed to meet established goals for improvement based on the national data standards. For example, Georgia addressed all areas that were in non-conformity, which laid the foundation for program improvement to meet their goals for the State's two safety data indicators tied to national standards, as well as two permanency data indicators, adoption and permanency for youth in foster care for long periods of time, also tied to national standards.
- Bryan A. Samuels, Assistant Secretary

Excerpts, email from the ACF Children's Bureau Region IV Office:

I am so pleased to be able to officially congratulate Georgia on the successful completion of its Round 2 CFSR Program Improvement Plan (PIP)!

Along with sister agencies and community partners, DFCS staff worked very hard to begin implementing systemic changes to improve the delivery of child welfare services in order to meet the requirements of the PIP and we appreciate their hard work.
